Family mugs

Last year my parents in law bought a house in the Lyon countryside.

On our first morning on Easter week-end they served breakfast with the any-mug-you-can-find-is-good style.
Some mugs were left from the old owners, some were brought from the city, and others from random places. The result was a mix of old and rusty mugs. And we all know that to start the day in the best way you need the perfect mug for your hot coffee.

So It came to me the idea to make something special for the family, where each member of the family would have their own mug.
Grandparents, children, grandchildren and future incomes will have their personalized breakfast.
So this Christmas when they unwrapped their present, we all couldn't wait for the next morning!

I hope you like my idea :)

To decorate the mugs I used home ceramic paintings by Pébéo.
I painted the mugs and cooked them in the oven for 30'.
Simple and worth it!

JE SUIS CHARLIE

My first post was supposed to be my first sewing project, but recent events made me decide to post a photo project I made this week-end.

Yesterday, 11th January 2015, the biggest demonstration since 1945 took place in the streets of Paris.
Almost 2 million people came to the streets to march for freedom.

Since I was one of those 2 million people, I carefully documented this important day with my Canon.
Here's my favorites.

I was proud to be there.

Names Made

Whoever said that I'm not a good writer, I must admit that he/she was right.
Luckily, since I was a little girl, I've always found another way to express myself: ART!

You know those girls who as a present to their parents or grandparents read a beautiful poem written by them? Well, my family had to forget this with me!
When a birthday or anniversary approached, I used to make beautiful paitings full of pictures, colors and anything I could find in my messy room. My mom always told me I was the family artist.

Nowdays, those paintings became purses, necklaces, clothes, ceramics, scarves, embroidery and many other things that I love to create on week-ends!

And that's how, on a lazy day at work, it came to me the idea of putting all my projects together on a blog, so when people ask me what kind of things I like to make, this is what I'm going to show them.

Now you'll ask, why "Names"? What is it?
Names is the nickname my host sister gave me in 2006 in Vermont, over time it arrived to Europe and people started calling me so.

So, resolutions for 2015? Starting my own blog!

Therefore my friends, be prepared to look at many things made by Names!

These pictures are from my new project (top secret for now), you'll see the result in a month!
